Bio

NATIVE BORN SACRAMENTAN STEVE BOUTTE BEGAN PLAYING DRUMS IN 1964 AND TOOK IT UP FULL TIME PROFESSIONALLY IN 1967. AFTER PUTTING A ROCK BAND TOGETHER MID '67 THEY BEGAN WRITING THEIR OWN SONGS IN HOPES OF GARNERING A RECORD CONTRACT AND THEY ATTAINED LIMITED SUCCESS WITH THE PROJECT WHICH PROMPTED HIM TO MOVE INTO THE NIGHTCLUB DANCE SCENE, WHERE HIS SUCCESS KEPT HIM EMPLOYED FOR MANY YEARS. WORKING REGULARLY AND OPENING FOR RECORDING STARS, STEVE DECIDED TO ONCE AGAIN PERSUE THE ORIGINAL MUSIC VENUE, AND WAS RECRUITED INTO THE NIELSON PEARSON BAND, A GROUP OF SOME OF SACRAMENTO'S BEST ARTISTS, AND SIGNED A RECORDING CONTRACT WITH EPIC RECORDS. AT THE END OF THE BANDS RUN STEVE WENT BACK TO THE NITECLUB MUSIC SCENE WHERE HE GAVE HIS SECOND INSTRUMENT THE GUITAR A MUCH MORE SERIOUS ENDEAVOR, AS WELL AS TAKING UP THE BASS DISCOVERING ANOTHER FACET TO HIS CRAFT.

WITH ALL THIS EXPERIENCE ON MULTIPLE INSTRUMENTS STEVE HAS WORKED MORE THAN MOST. ..."SOMEONE IS ALWAYS IN NEED OF EITHER GUITAR, DRUMS, OR BASS, PERFORMING LIVE, OR IN THE RECORDING STUDIO PRODUCTION, AND ARRANGEMENT"... STEVE IS PROFICIENT AT PLAYING ALL PARTS HIMSELF AS WELL AS LENDING VOCALS TO HIS CLIENTS PROJECTS.

"...ALONG WITH MY OWN MATERIAL BEING FEATURED ON THIS WEBSITE I WILL BE POSTING SAMPLERS OF OTHER ARTISTS TUNES I'VE DONE WORK ON. MATERIAL I THINK WILL BE OF GREAT LISTENING INTEREST AND PLEASURE TO YOU. I'VE OFTEN PLAYED MOST OR ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTATION AND OVERSEEN ARRANGEMENT AND PRODUCTION. I WILL ALSO HAVE LINKS TO OTHER ARTISTS WHOSE SONGS YOU MIGHT LIKE AND GIG CALENDARS FOR THE LOCAL AREA."

It is my pleasure to announce a musical event of great significance to myself as well as the sac metro area!! On Friday, Dec 18th at J.B.'s Lounge in the Red Lion off Arden Way, I will be performing with bassist Steve Vasconcellos' musical creation "The Prophetz of Time and Space", his work in progress with several C.D.'s reeased to date. Steve's recording studio lineup includes such heavy jazz hitters as, Brandon Fields, Munyungo Jackson, Jerry Goodman, Otmaro Ruiz, Leon "Ndugu" Chancler, Tadashi Namba. As you might well imagine, this ensanble's touring would not be very cost effective in todays economy. However, Steve has come up with a viable alternative; a lineup to please your ears as well as your pocketbook!!! The lineup for Fri. night will go as follows;
Legendary Sacramento guitarist Mic Valentino, (thanks for the gig Mic!!), also, from the Camellia city on piano, jazz and funk emprasario, and dear old friend Rodger Smith, (Tower of Power,Rodger Smith Band), renoun voilinist Jerry Goodman,(Mahavishnu Orchestra), also on the keys, Tadashi Namba (Hiroshima, Steely Dan), Detroit (Motor City) saxiphonist, Rocky Tatarelli, one of the best I personally have ever played with, band leader and principal composer, Steve Vasconcellos, and myself the lovely and talented (LOL) Steve Boutte' on drums and percussion. I an excited and honored to be playing with musicians from bands that have not only influenced but literaly moulded me musically and look forward to performing in my home town for all of our friends!! Please check with the Red Lion for showtimes and cover charge. If we sell enough tickets, there will be two shows, so please lend your support to what I think will be a night of magic,fun,and great entertainment!!!
